Ice Hockey -- Although Czech stars like Jaromír Jágr and Dominik Hasek have left home to play in the NHL, Czech hockey still has a lot of up-and-comers. Prague's team Sparta Praha plays their national rivals from mid-September to April at T-Mobile Arena, Za elektrárnou 419, Praha 7 (tel. 266-727-443). Admission is 50Kc to 100Kc ($1.80-$3.55). Take metro line C to Holesovice and then tram no. 5 or 17 to Výstaviste.
Soccer -- AC Sparta Praha, the top local soccer team, has a fanatical following, and games draw rowdy crowds to Letná Stadium, Praha 7 (tel. 220-570-323). Tickets for big matches often sell out long before game time, but seats are usually available up to the last moment for lesser matches. Game tickets are usually 60Kc to 210Kc ($2.15-$7.50) for a domestic league game, 400Kc to 900Kc ($14-$32) for an international match. Take metro line A to Hradcanská and then take tram no. 1, 8, 25, or 26 to the stadium.
